(A) train
When I have to get to the city by subway, I always take the A train from far rockaway which results in almost an hour to Jay Street. While I may be ignorant since I havn’t taken that many lines as far as the A train, I always feel so comfortable there. Comfortable is the wrong word, because I’m always awake and observing and even tense, plus the A train cars are pretty crappy, but I can’t find anything else to describe it. Most of the commute is above ground so sunlight dances onto and off people’s faces-the faces of young and old, the experienced travelers and the tourists. I feel alone on the train, but not separate. None quite like me, but none so different. Like I am one of the masses, which sometimes, isn’t such a bad thing.
